Winning Developer revealed for Grange Pool site

 
Berners Stie, Grange-over-SandsThe Cabinet met on Wednesday 12 November and has chosen the preferred developer to regenerate the Berner’s pool site in Grange-over-Sands.
 
Berners Vision Partnership, led by the Grange-based Lake District hotelier Jonathan Denby, was chosen at a special Cabinet meeting in Grange, attended by over 150 local residents.
 
The partnership’s initial concepts for the site include a public leisure centre and pool, a two-storey medical centre, 21 apartments overlooking Morecambe Bay including a number of affordable properties, a Lido Leisure and Café, and Cumbria’s first ever 5-star retirement hotel.

South Lakeland Business 2 Business ExhibitionB2B Exhibition

The first South Lakeland Business 2 Business Exhibition was held last month at the Castle Green Hotel, in Kendal.  The exhibition was organised by South Lakeland District Council in Partnership with Cumbria Rural Enterprise Agency and Cumbria Chamber of Commerce.  The event was bustling with activity, there were over 40 exhibitors from the public and private sectors; keynote speakers were Tom Edge and Peninsula Business Services and the annoucement of the South Lakeland Entrepreneur of the Year Award.  About 250 businesses from South Lakeland and the surrounding areas attended the event.

Train to Gain Business Skills Adviser for Kendal

Highway Stewards

Cumbria Councy Council have been phasing in a number of Highway Stewards to sort minor highway issues reported to a new Highways hotline.  This service includes cleaning and repairing road signs, emergency pothole repairs and a range of other routine maintenance jobs.   Anyone can report any problems by calling the hotline number 0845 609 6609 or by emailing contact@cumbriahighways.co.uk.  For further information please download the leaflet.
